Californians for Tomorrow supports the continued implementation of SB 54, bipartisan legislation passed by the Legislature and signed into law in 2022.
Our focus is straightforward: following through on the law California already enacted and delivering the results it promised.
We applaud California’s leaders for doing the right thing, honoring the commitment they made and staying the course. Meaningful progress takes sustained leadership, especially when implementation is complex and the pressure to delay is strong.
Following through means less plastic pollution in our communities. Greater certainty for businesses making hiring, investment and operational decisions. A fair and workable transition for affected industries. And meaningful progress for the communities that have waited long enough to see the benefits.
California debated SB 54, built a bipartisan agreement and made a decision. Four years later, the priority should be effective implementation, measurable results and continued progress, not delay or uncertainty.
We believe public commitments should mean something. Californians for Tomorrow exists to support follow-through and help move California toward a cleaner, stronger and more sustainable future.
